This covers the gwaan.ai website and its waitlist. The Gwaan app will have its own policy before it launches, because it will handle training data this site never sees.

Gwaan is made by Eclectic Systems Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13074505), registered office Kemp House, 160 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. We are the controller of the personal data described here.
For anything about your data, email privacy@gwaan.ai.
Your email address, when you submitted it, when you confirmed it, the version of the page you signed up on, and the campaign link that brought you here, if there was one (for example utm_source=newsletter). We ask you to confirm by clicking a link we email you, so nobody can add your address without you.
Why: to tell you when Gwaan is ready to try, and to know which pages and campaigns people actually sign up from. Legal basis: your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
We measure how the page is used: pages viewed, which parts were scrolled into view, which buttons were pressed, how you arrived (the referring site or campaign link), device and browser type, and, only if you accept the analytics cookie, coarse location at city or region level. Without that, your IP address is discarded before any location could be worked out from it. We do not record your screen, keystrokes or what you type into the form.
Without your consent, nothing is stored on your device for this. Visits are counted with a code our analytics provider calculates on its servers from your IP address and browser details, mixed with a random value that changes every day and is then deleted. The code can't be turned back into your IP address, and because it changes daily we can't recognise you on a later day. We do this under the exception in UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) for information used only to count visits and improve this website.
With your consent, we also set one first-party analytics cookie, so that a return visit is recognised as the same visitor rather than a new one.
Why: to improve this page — for example, whether one version explains Gwaan better than another. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site (Article 6(1)(f)), and your consent for the cookie.
We honour your browser's Do Not Track setting: if it's on, the page sends no analytics at all.
This site doesn't ask for any health information and doesn't need it. Please don't send us any by email. If you do, we'll delete it and reply without it.
Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs (IP address, time, page requested) to deliver the site and keep it secure. Legal basis: legitimate interests in running a secure service.

You can change your mind at any time with Cookie choices at the bottom of every page. We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or device fingerprinting.

Each processes data only on our instructions, under a data processing agreement. Analytics requests go through our own address first, so the page never loads anything directly from an analytics company.
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or take a copy of it. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time; that doesn't affect what we did before. Email privacy@gwaan.ai and we'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
The waitlist is for people aged 16 and over. If you think a child has signed up, tell us and we'll remove them.
If we change what we collect or why, we'll update this page and its date. If a change affects people on the waitlist, we'll email them first.
